While we’re practicing social distancing and taking care of our health, we wanted to reach out. As knitters, we are not alone. During this time, we’re inspired to work on our goals – use stash, make cute items, challenge ourselves, and explore texture! If any of those sound like fun to you, you’re in the right place.
For this KAL, we’ll be working on these three hats – if none appeal to you, you’re welcome to explore the other hats in the Year of Hats collection available on Ravelry for free. We’ll be showing off these hats on social media (tag our IG or Facebook!) and bringing them in for our next meeting – whenever that is. Note: the Mosaic Hat does require an email sign up, but it is free.
If you’d prefer an alternative, there are some general searches listed at the bottom of this page to check over and find something else. Share your photos with the tags & inspire other guildmates to try a new hat, too! (You can also email photos to our newsletter email, as well!)
First off, we have the July Hat! It’s a worsted weight, basic textured hat. Lots of purls and knits. You can find the pattern here: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/july-hat
Second, we have the Mosaic Hat! Made with DK yarn, it’s a good beginner colourwork hat using mosaic stitch – which is a fun & interesting style of colourwork to learn. A new challenge, maybe? You can find the pattern here: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mosaic-hat-9
And lastly, we have the May Hat! Intricate cabling and a deep ribbed brim, made up in worsted weight yarn. If you’re a cable lover looking for a short project, this hat is for you. You can find the pattern here: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/may-hat-2
